Update!

So it has been a long time since I blogged, so here is an update on the Jones family. It is long!

Shawn:

Shawn in 10 weeks old today! He is getting really big really fast. At his 2 month appointment last week he was 14 lbs 5 oz (95%) and 23 inches (50%). Most people ask if he is 3 or 4 months old, it has started to get to me that people always make a comment on how big he is and look at me like I am lying that is only 10 weeks, but I just try to remember that I know he is healthy and obviously getting enough.
Shawn has started smiling and cooing. He started doing both around 8 weeks. I can not describe the joy I feel when Shawn smiles at me. We have some fun 'conversations' as he is discovering his vocal chords!

On May 23rd Shawn was blessed by his daddy. We did it on this day because I had a lot of family in town due to my sister's high school graduation. It was a little hectic, with the temple dedication, but it was a wonderful day. We had our family and close friends there to witness such a special day. Shawn has 5 living Great Grandparents (all were at the blessing)!
Shawn is sleeping really well, he sleeps 5-9 hours a night. Each night is totally different. Charlie helps me during the night, which is so wonderful because then I feel supported as I feed him in the wee hours of the night.

We have made some trips since Shawn was born. Shawn and I went to Thatcher, Arizona with my family (Charlie had to work) to go through the open house. Charlie and I took Shawn to the Grand Canyon and to Sedona a few weeks ago to meet some of Charlie's friends.

On Memorial Day, we took Shawn swimming for the first time. He absolutely loved it. I think he is going to be a water baby! (I don't have the pictures to post, they are on my mom's camera)

Shawn recently turned 2 months. I can not believe that I gave birth 2 months ago! Here are 1 and 2 month pictures:

At 1 month the doctor suggested that Shawn might be lactose sensitive and that may be why he is so fussy during feedings and spits up so much. She said I should go off of dairy and see how he reacts. I went cold turkey that week and realized how much I couldn't eat. It about killed me because dairy is what I craved (especially milk) when I was pregnant and the cravings didn't go away when Shawn was born. I now eat only a tiny bit and he seems to be doing better. At his 2 month appointmet we told the doctor that the spit up is a little better but he is still super fussy at feddings. She suggested it maybe heartburn and gave us some Zantac, it seems to be working!

Charlie: Charlie finished his semester at MCC and is very glad to have a break from school until August. He is enjoying church sports. He plays basketball on Wednesdays with guys from the ward and stake softball on Thursday nights. Last Thursday, Shawn and I went to watch him pitch!

Christina: My life mainly revolves around Shawn. I am teaching piano 3 nights a week and am the Beehive advisor in our ward. One of the biggest things in my life right now is nursing. It takes up a lot of my day and has been a very challengind thing for Shawn and I. We are both getting better, but still struggle on most days.

Love the post!!! You guys are so cute! We just started Ava on Zantac yesterday, glad to hear its been working for Shawn!

I have been getting the "your baby is huge thing" since about 8 weeks. No one ever believes she is 3 months and she is in 9 month clothes now, so I guess I can see why they think that! :(

I just remind myself that chunky babies are cute :)

Anyway we should get together! Go walking or something!

I had to give up dairy with Andrew for about a month. It was so hard! I couldn't believe it.
