Halloween

We have not blogged in a while so here are 4 posts!

Shawn’s first Halloween, he was a dinosaur.  IMG_2953

Shawn got to see all of his grandparents the night before Halloween.  Christina took him to her parent’s Trunk or Treat and then we meet at Charlie’s parents Trunk or Treat.  It was a busy night for everyone.

Because Halloween fell on Sunday and I have to work Christina and Shawn drove out to where I work and we knocked on a couple of doors.  I guess you could tell we where in a nice part of town because the houses where huge and one guy offered me a beer.  I told him that I don’t drink and I handed the beer back to him.  We all had a fun time.  As we were walking in between houses Christina and I were talking about how awkward it was going up to a house and saying Trick or Treat to these people for our baby who wouldn’t be eating any of the candy.  Everyone loved Shawn sitting in his stroller.  One house told us that we had to come back next year so they could see the cute Dinosaur again.

Bath time!!! Fun

Shawn sick for the first time.

(post 3 of 4)

Shawn was going to bed and I was feeding him, I finished feeding him and was burping him. I hear him start to burp and i was like ok and then vomit proceeded out of his mouth for a good 3 sec and covering me, the rocking chair, the ground, and what ever else was near by. It was gross but really cool and I was yelling for Christina to come but she couldn’t really hear me (because she was doing the dished) so I yelled louder and she came and helped me clean up Shawn and everything else. He was pretty happy so we feed him the rest of the bottle (big mistake!) and put Shawn in bed. About 5 to 10mins later we hear him crying we think that he just work him self up and he will go back to bed then after about 15mins we go in there to find him covered in more throw up. I would put picks but I am sure not many people want to see them. After we got him all cleaned up (this required a bath!) we let him stay up with us. Because he was sick I wanted him by us so he slept next to me, he is just so cute!

Shawn’s/Christina’s Surgery

Post 4 of 4

Christina had her tonsils out at the end September. She was getting strep a lot and getting tonsillitis in August was the last straw. She was extremely nervous, she had never had surgery before. The surgery was only 12 minutes and everything went well! She had a really hard recovery and was in a lot of pain. It took about a month for her to fully recover.

On Oct 13th (2 weeks after Christina’s surgery)Shawn had surgery to fix a birth defect he was born with. He was such a trooper, Christina was more scared than Shawn was. While we waited for Shawn’s surgery, Shawn was able to play with a car that we pushed him around in. There was another child there for the same thing. The two of them look so cute in their gowns. He was out for a couple of hours and then we got to see him.

After all was said and done Shawn was doing good and we where just happy to have our son back. Thanks to my dad and Christina’s mom for coming up to be there with us.

The day after Shawn’s surgery he could roll from his back to stomach and vice versa (he could only do one way before!)

3 days after his surgery his catheter came out with totally scared us because the doctor was supposed to take it out a week later! Everything turned out and Shawn totally healed within a week. This was really scary and stressful for us and we are so glad it is over!

So I had a recovering wife and baby to take care of. Thanks to Christina’s family for the help with the two of my favorite people in the world.
